Not much to write about

I know I have not posted in a while, I guess I have just not had much to blog about. Lorenzo is doing fine, he ended up having a double ear infection and sinus infection, all I can say is thank goodness for antibiotics. Riley ended up getting sick last week too but was fine after a day of rest. So as of right now everyone is doing much better.

The kids are out of school for 2 weeks (yes you heard me) it is spring break out here. I have a feeling I am going be busy trying to keep everyone busy. School starts back on the 6th and that is also when Lorenzo will starting in his new class. It is funny, for 2 years we have been trying to get the school to give Lorenzo the help he needs, they are very back-ended here. They wait until there is a big problem before they are willing to do anything. We have been begging them to be more proactive but that is just not the way they work. I used to get so tired of hearing about the least restrictive environment when the environment he was in was not helping him at all. So now he is in the special education class and I am nervous. Jeremy told the school at our last IEP meeting that if we did not see any improvement that our next step would have to be due process. They seemed to understand so we are just hoping that this helps.

Thanks for your comments to me on my blog! I also wanted to tell you I got new fragrances in the mail and I LUUUUUUUUUVVVVVV them all! Thank you, thank you!

I am so sorry you guys have had such a time with the schools! How frustrating to not be helped when you knew you needed it. I hope the new class is a huge change for the better.

And geez, 2 weeks for spring break? I wish like heck that we could all come hang out on the beach with you guys for spring break...we're still freezing our tooshies off in 30 degree daytime weather! Maybe VA will be better. And can I say I'm more excited about going to VA now that there's such a good chance of us being there when you guys get there! Finally! :) Let's hope nothing major changes between now and next year!

Hi Briana,
Sounds like you have had your issues with schools also.. John has just been shuffled from school to school and each year I have had to fight to "follow the IEP" or YES he needs the special Ed class more then you think. Now last Veterans day, John came to me begging to live with his dad. I'm not sure, if he felt that Dad is easier on him or that he is lonely with his wife, I'm not sure, or he just wants to live with him. Anyway, he is now in Gaudet Middle school in Middletown and is struggling in all of his classes. They do not have special ed classes there. And from what I'm hearing they don't much follow his IEP either. I fought for two years to get certain things in his IEP and now, they don't even go by it. UGH! And now that Dad has the physical custoday, he is suppose to take the upper hand.. All he is taking is making and counseling parent/teacher conferences. And doesn't want me to go alone.. UGH!!!
Hope you start to have better luck now, that special ed will be in the picture..
Hugs to you all,
